Twenty Nine Pines is the work of Marley Tranfo, a metalsmith in Pittsburgh. She describes what she makes in her own words: comfortable, honest, well made, long lasting, slow fashion. Every piece is cut, shaped, and soldered at her bench in brass, sterling silver, or gold fill, then tumbled until it sits easy on the skin.
Nothing is mass-produced, so no two are exactly alike. "I work with brass, silver, and gold. All three are different and have their own set of challenges and rewards."
Her favorite tools right now are the torch, the saw, and several hammers. She will tell you that you can never have too many.
The company is female-owned and built for people who would rather own one thing they love than ten they don't.
